During her time at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Lonergan took on a variety of producing roles for several different news outlets. These included WCIA-3, Illinois Public Media, and UI7 Newsroom. Within the UI7 Newsroom, she also did work in front of the camera as a lead host for Good Morning Illini and anchor for UI7 Live.
